Many users reported that their anti-malware tools flag the comhookmonitor.exe process as a malicious application associated with several variants of Trojans and worms known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with outdated system security certificates. These users also claim that the comhookmonitor.exe process is embedded with self-activating functionalities that this malicious application implements upon system startup, and can operate as a hidden background process during system runtime. These users state that the comhookmonitor.exe process is capable of implementing its self-activating functionalities and hidden background process properties because of the keys and entries this malware is said to be capable of creating and injecting into the Windows System Registry upon its initial placement and subsequent activation in the unsecured Windows-based computer. Some of these users also claim that the comhookmonitor.exe process is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports that this malicious application uses to download more malware items unto the already infected system from remote servers that are managed by the authors of the comhookmonitor.exe malware.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. comhookmonitor.exe. is used by Trojan/Worm, If you shut down comhookmonitor.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop comhookmonitor.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan/Worm, from your system.
