What is coh32.exe
The software for Symantec Endpoint Protection includes a process simply known as SONAR Component. Although there is little information available about the file itself, it appears to be related to a feature of the software described as “proactive threat protection.” The file seems to do scheduled scans every fifteen minutes or so, a task which is said to consume a considerable amount of CPU resources; thereby slowing down CPU speed. You can configure file settings to prevent the file from running several times in an hour, and instead run it on a schedule that you prefer. This is a core component of the AV software, which is why uninstalling it is not recommended. Disabling it is likewise not recommended. Default folder of the file is C:\Program Files, and its general path is C:\Program File\Common Files\Symantec Shared\coh32.exe. The file has different versions, and file size depends on the version. File sizes however, do not differ all that much; just between a.197 KB and 1.198 KB.
