The codemeter.exe process is an executable file called as CodeMeter Runtime Server, which is a component of CodeMeter Runtime Kit software, a product created by WIBU-SYSTEMS AG. The program CodeMeter Runtime is an application that provides basic functions of CmStick, and access to CmContainers. It is associated with secure and easy management of passwords, as well as PINs and TAN lists, along with automatic filling of forms online through the CodeMeter Password Manager. These particular tasks are only enabled if all the components work. So, with the codemeter.exe file as part of the program, this needs to be stored in its location and kept running in the background. If this file is missing, the software CodeMeter Runtime Kit may not properly work or become disabled. In most cases, the file codemeter.exe, that is housed or bundled in the program CodeMeter Runtime Kit, is located in C:\Program Files, sometimes in another folder C:\Windows or C:\Documents and Settings.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. codemeter.exe. is used by CodeMeter Runtime Kit, If you shut down codemeter.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop codemeter.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CodeMeter Runtime Kit, from your system.
