What is  cmtray.exe

The cmtray.exe process is also known as the Content Manager Tray, as well as having the name Spybot and it was created by MiTAC Digital Corporation alongside Safer-Networking Ltd. Akamai Technologies, Inc. There may be instances when the cmtray.exe process presents an error and this can be caused by a malicious threat that is manifested by a spyware. Spyware are capable of being installed on the user’s computer system and then steal and change the codes of the user’s installed and running programs within the user’s computer. Once infected, the cmtray.exe process cannot function accordingly. This program error is prevalent amongst the Windows operating systems. Whenever the cmtray.exe process is in conflict or infected, it may cause the user’s computer system to crash or display error messages. An immediate attention should be given if ever this process encounters an error. There are no reports regarding the necessity of this program, or whether or not it is essential to run the computer system.
