What is cmintex.exe
The cmintex.exe file is an executable process reported by many users as a malicious program that has been flagged by their anti-malware tools as a variant of the AdWare.Win32.CASClient.p application, which is a family of obtrusive adware components. Other user groups claim that their system security tools classify the cmintex.exe process as a malicious program associated with the Win32/ICannews.B application, which is another family of obtrusive adware items known to infect unsecured Windows-based computers. In both instances, these users reported that the cmintex.exe process is capable of hijacking outdated Web browsers and exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of unprotected Windows-based systems, in order to display pop-up advertisements while the user is browsing the Internet. These same users claim that the cmintex.exe process is embedded with auto-activating functionalities and the ability to create and inject certain keys and entries into the Windows System Registry, in which these registry elements have been said to instruct the system to allow the cmintex.exe file to automatically run during system startup and continue to operate as a hidden background process during system runtime.
