The cmcom.exe process is an executable component file of the Compaq Client Manager software, which is now called HP Client Manager (as of this writing). This software is bundled with the firmware resources and device driver software utilities of Compaq/HP business computers, laptops and mobile computing devices. The Compaq Client Manager software is a Windows program that was developed with a set of features for managing and monitoring the hardware components of Compaq/HP devices that are connected to a local or remote network in a centralized location, which is managed by network administrators and system specialists. The cmcom.exe process is specifically deployed as the executable program dispatcher file of the Compaq Client Manager software and is placed in the system upon the installation of the associated Compaq/HP firmware components and device driver software utilities, in order to assist in the integration of these network hardware device monitoring and management functionalities.
