CyberLink Media Server Service is the integral name of the Windows process and executable file called clmsserverforpdvd11.exe, which is a part of the program CyberLink PowerDVD, particularly version 11, and is developed by CyberLink. CyberLink PowerDVD 11.0 is a type of video software that is installed on Windows computers and laptops, as it is compatible with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, which include later versions, such as Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. Once the software CyberLink PowerDVD is downloaded onto the computer, the clmsserverforpdvd11.exe file, or CyberLink Media Server Service, is also installed and stored on a folder location named C:\Program Files, or C:\Documents and Settings. If it is successfully stored, it is recommended to keep the file running in the program. Stopping the file can cause the software CyberLink PowerDVD to become disabled, which means the user is not able to access the functions and options. Unless it is causing errors or problems, this file must not be terminated.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. clmsserverforpdvd11.exe. is used by CyberLink PowerDVD, If you shut down clmsserverforpdvd11.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop clmsserverforpdvd11.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CyberLink PowerDVD, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as CyberLink PowerDVD, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
