The ckvo.exe file has been reported to be an executable process associated with the Cloaked Malware group of malicious programs. Some reports claim that the process can create, move, copy and delete other system processes, background components, files or folders. This process has also been reported to be capable of disallowing user access to the Windows Task Manager and Windows Registry Editor. The ckvo.exe process, according to some user reports, can also disable the Safe Mode function of Windows, and may make changes to Windows Security Center, in order to prevent antivirus and firewall status alerts and Firewall override alerts from being displayed. This malicious program has also been reported to be capable of injecting code with backdoor functionality into the system, and it may connect to websites linked to malicious software (without the user knowing). A few reports claim that the ckvo.exe process can load and reference a System Driver File, and may read email addresses and phonebook entries. The implementation of new Background services into the infected system has also been reported by some users, while a few reports claim that it may record a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) file and may also make changes to Windows Security Policies, in order to limit or extend user privileges. Some users state that the ckvo.exe process can obtain the IP address of websites using DNS, and may automatically activate certain installed programs upon system startup by adding a Registry Key (RUN). The ckvo.exe process is also said to use multiple file names (or copied to various locations on the system) and has the capacity to revise its structure, using low level functions to render itself invisible from system or security checks. Other programs are also found to insert code into the Virtual Memory space of this malware.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ckvo.exe. is used by Trojan/Malware/Virus, If you shut down ckvo.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ckvo.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan/Malware/Virus, from your system.
