The cinemsup.sys process is a system driver file that is implemented into the system by the Sonic Sine Player software, which is now called Roxio Sine Player as of this writing. The cinemsup.sys file is specifically deployed as the SW SineMaster Support driver, and this driver assists in integrating video playback and compatibility support functionalities for the connected optical DVD disk drives into the Windows-based system and the Sonic Sine Player software. The cinemsup.sys file is placed in the system upon the installation of the Sonic/Roxio Sine Player program, which is bundled with certain standalone optical DVD drives and laptop and desktop computers that are equipped with supported DVD players. The cinemsup.sys file, as a driver utility, aids in facilitating data transmissions and communications between the Windows system, the Sonic/Roxio Sine Player software, the firmware components and the driver utilities of the associated motherboard chipsets, I/O ports, video encoder/decoder devices and connected DVD drives.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cinemsup.sys. is used by Sonic Sine Player/Roxio Sine Player, If you shut down cinemsup.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cinemsup.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Sonic Sine Player/Roxio Sine Player, from your system.
