The chatserver.exe file is an EXE application process integrated into the system by the AresGalaxy software, which is a Windows freeware program classified as a P2P (Peer to Peer) application developed with a set of features for searching, sharing and downloading multimedia content that is shared by other AresGalaxy P2P network users. The chatserver.exe process is specifically deployed as the executable program dispatcher file of the Ares Chat Server application, which is a small program built into the AresGalaxy P2P software that aids in facilitating the creation and implementation of chat rooms and channels within the Ares P2P software, in order for users to communicate with other AresGalaxy P2P network users via the embedded chat functionalities of the AresGalaxy P2P software. This P2P program is also integrated with built-in audio and video players, which can allow users to play downloaded videos and listen to downloaded music tracks while waiting for other queued downloads in the AresGalaxy P2P software to complete. The chatserver.exe file is placed in the Windows-based system upon the installation of the AresGalaxy P2P freeware.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. chatserver.exe. is used by AresGalaxy and AresGalaxy Chat Server Application, If you shut down chatserver.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop chatserver.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AresGalaxy and AresGalaxy Chat Server Application, from your system.
