The executable file ConfigFree SUMMIT Engine or cfxfer.exe is a background process for the Toshiba ConfigFree software from Toshiba Corporation. Toshiba Corporation is a company that produces Laptops, notebooks, LCDs, and several others digital devices. Cfxfer.exe comes automatically installed with computers and notebooks from Toshiba. It has access with the peripherals attached on the computer. With this background process, Toshiba is able to provide specialized configuration functions that are not present on competitors. This executable file, when running, will aid in the auto-configuration ability of Toshiba notebooks. This background process is not a core component of the operating system, however, removing this file may pose problem on the computer's configuration. The File cfxfer.exe can be located inside the Program Files folder of the computer's local drive directory. The size of this executable file ranges from 800 KB to 1MB in storage.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cfxfer.exe. is used by Toshiba ConfigFree, If you shut down cfxfer.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cfxfer.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Toshiba ConfigFree, from your system.
