The cfgnm.dll file has been reported by many users as a component of the Win32/BookedSpace software, which is classified by the system security tools of these users as a family of obtrusive adware programs embedded with spyware functionalities. These user reports also claim that the cfgnm.dll file is disguised as a legitimate DLL (Dynamic Link Library) module, in order to trick users into thinking that the cfgnm.dll file is a valid modular system component or a legitimate application resource library. Other users claim that the cfgnm.dll file is capable of exploiting unprotected TCP/IP network ports of the Windows-based system, in order to use these system vulnerabilities to contact remote servers that are managed by its authors and upload to these remote servers the Internet surfing information and private user details that the cfgnm.dll file is said to be capable of secretly collecting from the infected system and its default Web browser.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cfgnm.dll. is used by Win32/BookedSpace Adware, If you shut down cfgnm.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cfgnm.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Win32/BookedSpace Adware, from your system.
