The ceisvc.exe process is an executable file that has been reported by many users as a possible malicious application disguised as the legitimate cisvc.exe process. Microsoft Windows implements the cisvc.exe file, which is the legitimate version of the ceisvc.exe process, as the executable program dispatcher file of the Content Indexing Service application. This software is a small program built into the system that aids Microsoft Windows in indexing files and folders stored in the data storage devices connected to the computer, for faster file and folder searches. Some users reported that the ceisvc.exe file, which is the allegedly fake version of the valid cisvc.exe process, is capable of creating and injecting keys and entries into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation, in order for the system to allow the ceisvc.exe process to automatically run during system startup and operate as a background process during system runtime. These same users claim that the ceisvc.exe process then begins to collect private user data and Internet surfing information from the system and its default Web browser, then exploit unprotected TCP/IP network ports to transmit these details to the remote servers of its authors.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ceisvc.exe. is used by Malware/Spyware, If you shut down ceisvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ceisvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Malware/Spyware, from your system.
