What is  cdnspie.dll

The file cdnspie.dll is identified by Microsoft Malware Protection Center as malware that relates to the Browser Modifier: Win32:CNNIC that enables searches in the Internet Explore using Chinese keywords. This malware supports other applications to use Chinese domain names that registered with China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC). Browser modifiers are malware that is created for the purpose of hijacking and modifying a Web browser's settings like cdnspie.dll, which directs the browser to websites that are registered with CNNIC. Browser modifiers are installed when a user inadvertently clicks popup messages without reading the content that explains how to cancel the popup. The browser modifier can change the browser's default home page and force it to redirect to a specific website, and allows that website to gain traffic and consequently, more profit. Browser modifiers can be avoided by declining to click on popups.
