Belarc SMBios Access with executable extension bantext.sys is a component of the software for Belarc Advisor. The software provides an essential application that enables users to learn of any defects in their system. The software analyzes all the components of your system including hard disks, RAM, installed software and running processes. It also checks if your system’s security is stable, if your AV programs are updated, and if security patches have been installed. In other words, the software looks at the weak points of your system and then alerts you about its findings through a detailed profile report that it generates after it has run its tasks. This is an integral part of your system, and although disabling it may not cause any major system issues; it is still recommended that you keep the software installed in order to take advantage of its troubleshooting features. The software does not work on the issues per se, but it alerts you of errors in your system that may cause issues in the long run. The file can be found in C:\Windows\System 32\Drivers\bantext.sys.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. bantext.sys. is used by Belarc SMBios Access, If you shut down bantext.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop bantext.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Belarc SMBios Access, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Belarc SMBios Access, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
