What is bacstray.exe
Developed by Broadcom Corporation, bacstray.exe is the executable file for Broadcom Advanced Control Suite, the software for modem configuration, diagnosis, and device status monitor. It is known as the BackStray Application and is currently called BacsTrayD Application. Broadcom Advanced Control Suite launches from the modem via the Broadcom chipset run by bacstray.exe installed in Broadcom modem boxes and automatically loads during Windows startup. Bacstray.exe can also be launched by inserting the disc if desired by the user. It requires minimum amount of Windows system resources, as it uses only 92 kilobytes of memory viewable in the taskbar manager. Broadcom Advance Control Suite runs in Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems. A Linux compatible version will most likely come up as Broadcom is recently underlined to have made remarkable improvements on the Linux system kernel. Coincidentally, no compatibility issues are reported about the Broadcom Advanced Control Suite software.
