What is  auditchk.exe

Most reviews identify auditchk.exe as an unsafe process. The auditchk.exe file pertains to the Worm.Rbot-BPE process. Worms are malicious programs that spread through the network to propagate. It is usually downloaded and installed by breaches in the security of your computer system or through a spyware or adware application. The location of the auditchk.exe file is in the folder C:\Windows\System32. It has two known file sizes on Windows XP or Windows 7 operating system with 61,952 bytes occurring by 66% and the other with 62,464 bytes. The process file loads when you boot your Windows system. Its registry keys include HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. It is not a core file for Windows. It is not visible as a program. It listens or sends data through the Internet or the open ports to LAN. This process file can monitor applications.

How can I stop auditchk.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. auditchk.exe. is used by Rbot-BPE Trojan, If you shut down auditchk.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop auditchk.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Rbot-BPE Trojan, from your system.
