Developed by Microsoft Corporation, arservice.exe is the process file for the AlwaysReady Service, a maintenance management for Hewlett-Packard and Compaq computers and laptops that are running on Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition. Arservice.exe features power mechanism, broadcast task, power messaging that ensures that the hardware is running properly, and when the computer awakens from power-saving mode or from hibernation. AlwaysReady service is not available in Windows XP Media Center 2004 Edition because the 2005 edition already has the upgraded boot-up scenarios compatible to run the AlwaysReady service as the edition could sustain the boot-up.
