The aleupdat.exe file is a non-system process that may store information in a computer’s registry. But information input to the computer’s registry will not affect the computer’s performance as this process file is not CPU intensive. A file that is not CPU intensive does not require a large amount of information in order to perform its task. CPU intensive files are those that require large amount of disk space in order to perform well. Examples of CPU intensive files include games, videos, and audios downloaded by the user to a computer system. Although file aleupdat.exe is not CPU intensive, some other applications that run along with it may be CPU intensive that may cause the slowing down of a PC’s performance. This process file can simply be called ALEUpdate, a property of Symantec Shared Component software also known as Norton Internet Security version 2005 developed by Symantec.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. aleupdat.exe. is used by Symantec Shared Component or Norton Internet Security version 2005, If you shut down aleupdat.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop aleupdat.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Symantec Shared Component or Norton Internet Security version 2005, from your system.
