Known by the service name Intel Alert Service, the alertservice.exe process, which is a type of an executable or EXE file, is a part of the software product labeled as Intel Viiv Software, or Intel Viiv Digital Media Software, or Intel PRO Network Connections, which is developed by Intel Corporation. Intel Viiv Software is a platform initiative, which is originally made as a collection of computer technologies with the combination of ingredients by Intel that supports a media PC concept. The alertservice.exe file, which is a component of the application, is digitally signed (Intel(R) Viiv(TM) software - VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer), which makes it more essential to run in the background of the computer system. Like most modules, alertservice.exe is compatible with most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, or Windows OS, including Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. alertservice.exe. is used by Intel Viiv Software or Intel PRO Network Connections, If you shut down alertservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop alertservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Intel Viiv Software or Intel PRO Network Connections, from your system.
