Programm Category: Browser Add-On

What is  afom.exe

Firefox has included a memory “freer” to their add-on applications, through a process called Memory Fox which installs via the afom.exe file. What the application does is to free up RAM usage of the Web browser, while users are surfing the Web through the Firefox browser. Simply put, the application serves as a memory booster by flushing the memory when usage has reached its peak. The flushed memory is stored in the fragmented orphaned RAM. The file is saved in the Common Files subfolder of C:\Program Files, or AppData\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. Users’ accounts of their experience with the application are mostly positive, stating that the file does indeed help in decreasing RAM usage. The file is not required to run upon startup, although there is an option to activate the application and allow it to run with startup. Users can also launch the application only when browsing the Internet by activating the file from the add-ons tab of Firefox.
