Thanks for posting your question. I assume you\'re trying to get an xls file into IBM\'s SPSS? In doing so research I discovered that the POR file format has some size limitations. See here:

Also, if you\'re trying to get the xls file into SPSS, it appears you should be able to import the file directly. If not directly from an xls file, have you tried to convert from xls to csv, then try importing that file?
