A .PPTM file is basically a macro-enabled PowerPoint presentation. The PPTM file may contain a collection of presentation slides containing images, text, videos, sound effects and other embedded macros.
If you are unable to open the PPTM file using Microsoft PowerPoint, you could try disabling (removing) any add-ins or plug-ins that might be installed.
The other option is to try renaming the file extension. Simply rename the .PPTM file to .PPTX and it should open using PowerPoint

Files with the .pptm extension are most commonly associated with the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation software. The PPTM files feature macro-enabled presentations that have been created by the software. The PPTM files contain a collection of presentation slides containing images, text, movies, sound effects and embedded macros. These files are similar to PPTX files, but PPTX files do not contain embedded macros. The PPTM file format is based on the Open XML document format introduced by Microsoft in 2007.
If you want to open it normally as a pptx file, just rename the file extension to .pptx and it would work fine but you will lose the macro functionality.
