Hi Gianni,

It is possible that the malware cleanup has left the particular file corrupted.

We recommend running the Windows System File Checker scan on your computer to detect and fix this system file error.

To run this scan, simply follow the steps below:

- Click Start All Programs Accessories
- Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
( If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow or Continue )
- At the prompt, type \" sfc /scannow \" and hit enter.

Once the scan is complete, restart the computer for the changes to take effect

If this is a recent problem, you could also try performing a System Restore through Windows.

Let us know how this works for you.

Good luck,

James

I run \ "sfc / scannow \" asked me to reinsert the CD istallazioneXp, has completed the job, but I did not get any results; continuous to not be able to install any program. I repeated \ "sfc / scannow \", I was asked the most original XP disc, but I have not solved. Do you have any other suggestions?. Thanks

Hi Gianni. Can you confirm that you completed the sfc/ scannow with your original Windows XP disc? Another option worth trying is a Repair Installation of Windows using the Windows XP disc. Let us know how you go with this. James

Unfortunately following the link I can not give a rating or a rating on the response. However, I have already answered, as a comment, that the suggestion given to use \ "sfc / scannow did not correct \ 's error. The problem was due to a flaw in firefox, which downloaded exe file always ineffective and unable to proceed to \ 'installation. reistallato and I uninstalled firefox and it is solved. Thanks anyway \' s attention. Gianni
