Hi Jacob,

It seems that Microsoft Word software needs to be reset to resolve this issue.  It is very easy and you won't lose your documents.

Just follow the below steps:

1. Close all your open programs.
2. Open Finder.
3. Press and Hold Option button, then click GO on the top tool bar. Keep holding the Option button down and click on Library.
4. In the Library, click on Preferences.
5. Look for the file com.microsoft.word.plist
6. Move the file to your desktop.
7. Close the Library file.
8. Open Word again, this will take you through a Welcome screen. Which means your word software is reset.

You can also keep the .plist file in your PC (D drive), and if something similar happens again, you can always reset your settings.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, the other factors that frequently cause it are corrupt bullets/numbering, and Track Changes.

So for that, you can try a Maggie by following the below steps:

1. Create a new blank document in .docx format
2. Carefully select all of the text in the bad document EXCEPT the last
3. paragraph mark
4. Copy it.
5. Paste in the new document.
6. Save under a new file name and close all, then re-open.
