What type of Word Document are you trying to save for .acp?
My understanding is that a .acp file is for the Alfresco content management software. Without specific knowledge of how that software works I would expect for an .acp file to have different formatting within the file that is not contained in a normal Word document.
I would recommend that you create a new .acp file and then copy the contents of the Word Document into that file. Alternatively you could copy the contents of the Word file into the Alfresco software.
WordPress has the same problem :)

ACP files are used by Alfresco, an open source Enterprise Content Management software package. They contain data exported from an Alfresco repository, including XML metadata and content files, which may be documents, web files, images, records, or any other type of data supported by the Alfresco repository model. ACP files are used to back up repository data as well as to transfer data between Alfresco repositories.

As Mark suggested try creating a new file and then copying the contents of your word document into that file.
