If you get an error message : Firefox quit unexpectedly, then follow the below steps:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the shift key while starting Firefox.



While you are in safe mode:

Type about:preferences#advanced <Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.



If there is no error message, then follow the below steps:

• Launch the browser again and click “Help” in the top menu. Click “Check for Updates.” If an update is available, click “Update Firefox” and restart the browser when the update is downloaded and installed.
• Update your plug-ins - if a plug-in such such as Java or QuickTime is out-of-date, it may cause your browser to close. Access the Mozilla Plug-In Check Web page and review the list of available updates. Click “Update” and follow the update instructions. Restart your browser when prompted after the update is downloaded and installed.
