Hi Arathy,

I\'d like to clarify something here.

Are you stating that the Bluetooth is working normally on your computer but you don\'t see it listed in the Control Panel?

If yes, please give this a try: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894035

Should that not be the case, I would recommend locating the Bluetooth device in the Windows Device Manager, uninstalling (right-click) it from there, restarting your computer and letting Windows reinstall the Bluetooth device again. You will need to keep your Bluetooth driver handy for this.

Let us know how you go.

James

My PC doesn\'t detect any Bluetooth devices and I couldn\'t uninstall the Bluetooth device. It automatically gets back even after right clicking it from Device Manager.

Hi Arathy. Try this: 1. Turn on Bluetooth (using the hardware key) 2. Open up the Windows Control Panel 3. Click on View Devices and Printers 4. Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and choose Remove Device 5. Go to \"Device Manager\", select your computer\'s name, right-click and choose Scan for hardware changes This will reinstall the Bluetooth device and its driver. Let me know if this work for you.

Arathy, I\'m guessing you haven\'t installed the latest Win8 driver for Bluetooth yet. Please download and install the following driver: https://drivers.toshiba-india.com/Support/doc/Win8_64_Atheros%20Bluetooth%20Filter%20Driver%20Package-v2.0.9.exe Once installed, restart your laptop and check the Bluetooth functionality again.

Hi Arathy,

Try uninstalling the wireless components(Bluetooth,Wifi) Drivers and then restartig the Laptop and let the Windows detect the Hardware on its own.
Then it will search the windows update and download the required driver.

If this does not work then you can try the below steps:
  1. Open Run (Win+R)
  2. Key in devmgmt.msc
  3. The Bluetooth will be available as an Unkown Device.
  4. Right click on the icon and press Update Driver Software.
  5. Then click on the Automatically Search the Web Option.
This should work for you.

Regards,
Lokesh.

I just purchased an anti-virus (kaspersky) and now it is doing it again. It is so frustrating. My computer is only 6 months old. It is a Asus desktop.
