The setupx.exe file is an executable component process bundled with the system drivers, DLL modules and other program files that are implemented by the installation packages of certain Nero applications, which are applications classified as multimedia disk authoring programs designed by Nero AG with a set of tools for creating CD, DVD and Blue-Ray disks using media files stored in the user's Windows-based computer. This means the setupx.exe process is included in the installer distribution packages of these Nero programs, which also means the setupx.exe process is placed in the system upon downloading these installers. The setupx.exe process is specifically deployed as the executable dispatcher file of the installer, which means the user can initialize the installation process of these Nero programs by executing the setupx.exe file.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. setupx.exe. is used by Nero Installer, If you shut down setupx.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop setupx.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Nero Installer, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Nero Installer, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
