3300C Windows XP Driver Updater or 3400C Windows XP Driver Update or ScanJet (version 4200C Driver Update) is the service name called for the process hpupdate.exe, a type of an executable or EXE file, and is a part of the software product Driver Updater Application or Driver Update Application, which is developed by Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. or HP. Upon the installation of the program that houses the file, hpupdate.exe is one of the essential processes that are added, stored on a file folder, registered into the Windows registry and run in the background. Other than that, hpupdate.exe is a Windows file, so it basically runs in most versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems,including Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hpupdate.exe. is used by Driver Updater Application or Driver Update Application, If you shut down hpupdate.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hpupdate.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Driver Updater Application or Driver Update Application, from your system.
