The hpmsgsvc.exe process is also known as the HP Quick Launch Buttons and is created by Hewlett Packard Development Company. The HP Quick Launch Buttons applications allows the menu control of a variety of buttons such as the internal and external display, mute on and off, volume and the external Easy Access Buttons keyboard for the respective supported operating systems and notebook models. The Quick Launch buttons are available for the HP notebook personal computers. Furthermore, the Quick Launch buttons allows the user a faster access to the programs that he or she uses most often. The HP Quick Launch buttons are available above the F1-F12 function keyboards on the computer’s keyboard, specifically the Presentation button icon and the HP Info button icon. When these icons are available, this means that the respective computer has the HP Quick Launch buttons. This program is considered to be safe to run and does not present any potential harm to a user’s computer system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hpmsgsvc.exe. is used by HP Quick Launch Buttons, If you shut down hpmsgsvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
