What is chrome.exe
The file chrome.exe is the main executable file for the Google Chrome Web browser. Installing the browser on your PC will install the file. If you see several chrome.exe files running in your Task Manager Processes list, this is because you have several tabs open in Google Chrome. In other words, every site that you open with Google Chrome will execute the file. So if you have four tabs open in Google Chrome that is most likely the number of chrome.exe files that you will see in your Task Manager window. The file is generally stored in C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe. The file has a general size of 518.98 KB. The file can be enabled or disabled, installed or uninstalled, depending the on the users’ preference. Doing so however, will not allow you to browse the Internet any longer through Google Chrome; but as far as system performance goes, your PC should run just as smoothly without the file.
