The executable process file, bitcomet.exe (version 1.25.12.8), is identified as BitComet-a BitTorrent Client, part of the software, BitComet and is a Video download/BitTorrent/HTTP/FTP downloading Managing software. This Windows file is developed by the Company, BitComet.com and is considered to be a process part of BitTorrent Client. Although the process file is not a required process for the Operating System, it runs in the Task Manager as the process bitcomet.exe, further considered to be known as a sharing device by torrents. It is a peer to peer (P2P) program and is a launcher for P2P Client software. The process file, bitcomet.exe, has several features which include: having a visible window, where an icon is shown on the taskbar next to the clock, and a user-initiated application that can launch the main Control Panel in the Start Menu Programs list of the BitComet software. Although it is not a Windows system file nor is it CPU intensive, it has a file size on Windows 7/XP of 3,394,048 bytes (occurring at 22%), 2,600,950 bytes and 38 other variants. The process file is found to be located in the subfolder, C:\Program Files, Program Files\BitComet\BitComet.exe folder. It could automatically run from a Run, RunServices, RunOnce, and RunServicesOnce in the system registry.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. bitcomet.exe. is used by BitComet, If you shut down bitcomet.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop bitcomet.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is BitComet, from your system.
