What is  csie.dll

The csie.dll file has been reported by many users as a malicious application classified by their anti-malware tools as a variant of the ClearSearch program, which is a family of malicious BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) and Web browser hijackers known to be embedded with spyware functionalities. These users claim that the csie.dll malware is capable of covertly gathering privat user details and Internet surfing information from the infected system and its installed Web browsers, especially from unprotected Windows-based computers with missing OS security certificates, unencrypted TCP/IP network ports, outdated Web browsers and an unsecured Windows System Registry. Some of these users reported that the csie.dll malware is distributed with executable component processes with self-activating features or autorun functionalities, and these EXE files are said to be capable of creating and injecting keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry of the unprotected system, in which these registry strings are allegedly able to allow the csie.dll malware and its executable components to automatically initialize during system startup and operate as hidden or cloacked background processes during system runtime. These users claim that the csie.dll malware, upon its successful initialization, then finds and exploits system vulnerabilities like unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and outdated Web browsers that the csie.dll malware is then said to use for contacting and establishing data transmission lines with predesignated remote servers. The csie.dll malware is then said to transmit secretly gathered private user details and Internet surfing information to these remote servers, which are managed by the authors of the csie.dll malware. These procedures are performed by the csie.dll malware to assist these remote servers in processing the stolen data and for this malicious application to display pop-up ads while the user is browsing the Internet. Some of these users claim that these pop-up advertisements are related to their bookmarked Web pages, frequently visited sites and Internet search engine queries because the csie.dll malware retrieves and displays these pop-up ads from the remote servers of its authors after the stolen data has been processed.
