Hi Baerdy,

If the audio is not working, then you can follow the below fixes to resolve the problem.

Fix 1. Check your Driver
  1. Go to Control Panel -> Sound -> Under Playback and Recording tabs, Select and Set Defaults.
  2. You may also have to try this: Click Start -> Type Device Manager in Start Menu Search Bar -> Hit Enter.
  3. The Device Manager will open. Expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Locate your audio device. Double click on it to open its Properties box. See whether the driver is installed and the device working properly.
  4. In the Driver tab, click on Update Driver. Click OK.
Fix 2: Use a troubleshooter.
Windows computers come with built in troubleshooters that can help you fix volume issues.
  1. Click on the "Start" bar. Click "Control Panel." On the control panel, click "Troubleshooting" and then "Hardware and Sound."
  2. From there, select the option "Troubleshoot audio playback."
  3. Your computer will ask you a series of questions that will help the troubleshooter determine the cause of your volume issue.
In most cases, a volume issue can be fixed using Windows built-in troubleshooter.

Fix 3: Check for updates.
Sometimes, your sound card may be incompatible with Windows software. In this case, installing any necessary updates can help address the issue.

Windows Update, a feature that updates software to fix errors and bugs, is probably the easiest way to install updates. You can simply click "Install updates" when prompted. You can also manually check for updates by accessing Windows Update through the control panel.

This should keep your software up-to-date and fix any sound issues.

Fix 4.Check your sound card
Ensure that your Windows PC has a sound card, or sound processor, and it’s working properly.
  1. To check this, select the ‘Search’ option, type – Device Manager’ and click ‘Settings’.
  2. Open Device Manager, double-click Sound, video and game controllers to expand that category. I
  3. f a sound card is listed, you have one installed.
  4. Laptops and tablets do not usually have sound cards. Instead, they have integrated sound processors, which appear in the same category in Device Manager.
  5. See if it is working properly. If Device Status shows that the device is working correctly, the problem showing up is due to sound settings, the speakers, or the cables.

Fix 5: See what playback device is selected.
If sound is not playing from your computer, this may be because the wrong playback device is selected. For example, if the computer is set to play sound through headphones, sound may not come out of external speakers.
  1. To check the output device, click "start."
  2. Then type "sound" into the search bar.
  3. Click on the "Playback" tab. See what playback device has been selected for your computer. If it's something other than the device you're using, this is likely the cause of your loss of sound.
If the wrong audio device is listed as the default audio device, simply choose the correct device and click ‘Set Default’ button. Restart your laptop.

I hope this helps.

I updated all of the drivers after doing a backup using your tool. Now only two of 4 USB ports work. Nothing happens when I plug either my mouse or iPhone cable into them. Two still work, two do not. These ports worked prior to using your software. I have since done a RESTORE using your software and they still do not work. Could you please help me resolve this issue? I have a Dell Precision M6600 system if this helps.
