Hi Sophia,

You can easily have a backup of your saved passwords and other customization present in your Chrome browser. Signing in to your Google account will upload your entire setting and making it accessible to any computer or device you use together. You can use the below methods to safely create a backup of your passwords.

Method 1: Here's how to backup manually

  1. Press windows key + R in your keyboard then type the code “%USERPROFILE%Local SettingsApplicationsGoogleChromeUser Data” and then click OK button.
  2. Copy the folder named Default and paste folder in a safe location.
  3. To restore the folder, repeat step 1.
  4. Copy the backup folder that you saved previously in a safe location and paste it in the new window.
  5. It overwrites the current default folder and the files inside.

Also do not trust any third party websites for storing passwords as you’ve may have noticed, banking sites and many others that deal with highly sensitive information so don’t let save your password there.

Lokesh
