I still use Windows XP I would like to upgrade to 7 but i cant just upgrade from XP to 7. Plus i dont know if my computer would be compatible.

Yes, I am still using Windows XP SP3. I am having my share of problems, but I am learning from my mistakes. With the corrupt DLL files that I have been trying to fix, or replace, I am trying to decide if I should just go ahead and update from XP to Windows 7. Somewhere along the line, alot of my security updates were deleted, or just disappeared, due to malicious programs running rampant on my system.

Oletan Windows 7 olevan XP:tä nopeampi , joskin BC:n lukkiintumisia tapahtuu usein. Häiritsevänä myös pidän runsaiden mainosten tuloa etenkin Internetin äytössä. Samoin ns. roskapostin esto voisi olla täydelliempää. Kiitoksin

I use XP.. The problem with vista and win7 is that you have to “allow” all what you are running all the time this is rubbish.
Win 7 may be more secure but I don’t know about pressing a stupid button all the time like in vista.
    Freaking annoying!
    XP rules!

XP still works and I am planning on replacing the xp compter with one with Windows &

While I am not personally, I do provide support form some people who do still use XP.

There is no question that Windows 7 is an excellent operating system, Windows XP is also very good. On the whole it is very stable, improving substantially in this regards on previous version of Windows. If someone is using XP (and it works well for them), and would need to upgrade to faster hardware in order to run Windows 7, I still little need to upgrade.

the newest windows version is windows 7.
windows 7 is a very good operating system as it keep the good features and animations from windows vista and the speed of windows xp.
but what want to install them?
windows vista users can easily install win 7 by just using the upgrade function during the installation: this function keep all your files , settings and programs and just replaces the windows version.
but… unfortunately windows xp users have to reformat their hard drive and perform a clean installation of windows: this will erase all the data and then you will have to write them again:
your files from backupss , drivers , find all your programs again ect…
Basicaly , this is the main reason that the most xp user don’t upgrade theis computers.
but , finaly is it worth?

HI John, thanks for your note. This appears to be a common question, so much so that Microsoft have developed a micro-site addressing the concern. You can access Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx. Specifically, they have developed an application that you can download and run to determine the compatibility of your specific system with Windows 7. You can access the application here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor. Let us know how you get on.

i have a pc with xp (have had the disc to upgrade to 7 for a good few munths now and havnt) and a pc with windows 7. ther are only a few difrences with the pc’s i have thay have the same Gcard (nvdia 8800gts 512) the same HD but my windows 7 machine has 4 gig ram + a AMD phenom 9500 quad-core processor -2.2ghz
the xp machine has 2 gig ram and intel core2 duo 6600 -2.40ghz. the XP machine ALWAYS performs better with games rangeing from world of warcraft – crysis this is eiver due to windows 7 or the proccessors i dont know which.

Anyway my persinal oppinion is that windows 7 is not built for gamers its packed full of rubbish that i really dont need as a hardcore gamer, its built more for the casual windows live user or somebody that spends ther time on facebook…

Xp however, because of the time it was made is still kinda “basic” which tends to make it better for me.
