Generally called as an executable file, wpctrl.exe is a process that executes WinPortrait or otherwise known as PivotSoftware and plugin for PivotPro, which is a desktop manipulation tool. This is a utility tool that enables a user to change the display image angles or display graphic from landscape to portrait. That is if the monitor owned by the user is a Pivot one. Viewing options range from portrait 90 degrees to 180 degrees and up to 270 degrees. Larger degrees are mostly used in commercial places including medical institutions and legal fields. Consequently, a user is able to manage his usage of the different applications such as emailing, typing in a document, reading, viewing or browsing the Internet. This program is created by Portrait Studios for Microsoft Windows operating systems. The process wpctrl.exe varies in file sizes from 540672 bytes to 808696 bytes depending on the kind of operating system installed or used in the computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wpctrl.exe. is used by PivotPro, If you shut down wpctrl.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop wpctrl.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is PivotPro, from your system.
