The file process called as wmp.exe is a component of the program eMusic Download Manager, or Windows Media Format version 11 runtime, which is developed by eMusic, Inc. eMusic Download Manager is a type of software that enables a user to perform downloads of albums of audios and music, as well as audiobooks, in just a quick single touch of the button. This program is able to download audios in a much faster and easier time, with the option to sync eMusic downloads using WMP, Winap, and iTunes. In other words, eMusic Download Manager is an application that provides you a way to sync or transfer, and play audios it supports. This software is able to work with the components that are executed, so wmp.exe, being among the parts, is an important module, which must run in the background, and should not be terminated, unless it is causing errors and problems that greatly affect the system performance.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wmp.exe. is used by eMusic Download Manager, If you shut down wmp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop wmp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is eMusic Download Manager, from your system.
