Called by the service name WksCfgSrv Module, the executable or EXE file wkscfgsrv.exe is a part of the software product known as SafeGuard Easy Client(version 4.40.2), sometimes also SafeGuard Easy, and is developed by Utimaco Safeware AG. SafeGuard Easy Client or SafeGuard Easy is a type of a security program, while wkscfgsrv.exe is a component that when the software is installed, this file is also downloaded onto the computer, where it is stored on a file folder labeled as C:\Program Files, if not in C:\Documents and Settings or C:\Windows, also registered into the Windows registry, and automatically run in the background. Once it runs, wkscfgsrv.exe is recommended to continue functioning, and must not be terminated, unless it causes problems that affect the performance of the Windows system. In addition, wkscfgsrv.exe runs in most or all versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, like Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wkscfgsrv.exe. is used by SafeGuard Easy Client or SafeGuard Easy, If you shut down wkscfgsrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop wkscfgsrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is SafeGuard Easy Client or SafeGuard Easy, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as SafeGuard Easy Client or SafeGuard Easy, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
