Microsoft Works needs to possess the latest updates and the process wkdetect.exe is in charge of making an online check of updates that are available in the Internet. When the EXE file locates the updates, it controls the downloading process and asks the user to install these updates. These updates are automatically loaded by wkdetect.exe to Microsoft Works to enhance the main feature of the latter as being a Microsoft organizer utility.
