Executable file wifimsg.exe launches a process that is described as a module that is responsible for processing Wi-Fi messages. The file usually comes bundled with laptops manufactured by Hewlett-Packard. The process is a component of HP Wireless Assistant and is mainly responsible for enabling wireless devices connected to the PC. So if you have a Bluetooth-enabled device connected to the computer or you have attached a WLAN device to your HP laptop, you should leave this file enabled. The file has a default directory path of C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Wireless Assistant\wifimsg.exe. File size for Windows Vista is 316,720 bytes. It has a file version of 3.0.4.1. The process runs as a background task. For a lot of HP users, the file is a necessary tool for their computing activities. Therefore, the general consensus is to leave the file alone. The file is installed as a startup entry. You may however, prevent it from launching upon startup if you deem it necessary to do so.
