The whatsinagent.exe file is an EXE application process integrated into ControlGuard network security software products, which are deployed for implementing data protection and system security functionalities into Windows-based client computers that are connected to LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wireless Area Networks) or remote networks. This means the whatsinagent.exe process assists these ControlGuard applications in integrating data protection features and remote access security protocols into client computers that run on widely used versions of Microsoft Windows. The whatsinagent.exe process is specifically deployed as one of the component resources of the cgAgent program, which is an applet built into these ControlGuard client system security tools, and this applet operates in the background while these ControlGuard security applications are actively running in the system, in order to monitor all events, transactions, data transmissions and network activities. The whatsinagent.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of these ControlGuard endpoint security products.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. whatsinagent.exe. is used by ControlGuard Endpoint Security Software Products and cgAgent Application, If you shut down whatsinagent.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop whatsinagent.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ControlGuard Endpoint Security Software Products and cgAgent Application, from your system.
