Known by the service name Active WebCam, the process called webcam.exe, which is a type of an executable or EXE file, is a component of the software product Active WebCam, or WebCam Spy, which is developed by PY Software or PYSoft. Active WebCam is basically a type of video program that allows a user to detect, monitor and record videos from any sources, which include USB web cameras, analog cameras, networked cameras, and even video feeds. This kind of video program also has a feature that can broadcast a live feed of video with audio to an Internet browser, or even a separate copy of the software. When this application is downloaded, the webcam.exe file is installed onto the computer, where it is stored into a file folder, usually located in C:\Program Files, registered into the Windows registry, and then automatically run in the background. In addition, webcam.exe is Windows compatible, which means it works with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, such as Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. webcam.exe. is used by Active WebCam or WebCam Spy, If you shut down webcam.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop webcam.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Active WebCam or WebCam Spy, from your system.
