What is  uncfatdms.exe

The uncfatdms.exe file is an executable application resource item included with other EXE program files, some SYS drivers, certain Dynamic Link Library (DLL) modules, specific background processes and various associated components that are used and referenced by Microsoft Windows for implementing UNC and FAT (File Allocation Table) monitoring functionalities into the system. The uncfatdms.exe process is specifically deployed as one of the components of the UNCFAT Directory Monitoring Service module, which is an applet built into Microsoft Windows. This means the uncfatdms.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of Microsoft Windows, and the uncfatdms.exe process actively runs in the background of the system whenever the UNCFAT Directory Monitoring Service module is required by Microsoft Windows. This also means the uncfatdms.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of Microsoft Windows and is unloaded (during the installation process) unto the system partition where Microsoft Windows and all its components are being installed by the Windows installer distributions.
