The uiusys.sys process is a system driver resource file packaged with other SYS driver files, certain executable program items, some modular Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files, particular background processes and various associated components that are required by the firmware distributions and driver software packages of certain laptop and desktop computers equipped with Conexant chipsets and devices. These Conexant firmware and driver software components are implemented for certain Conexant products that range from networking devices like modems and routers to built-in audio and video chipsets, various I/O devices and different I/O port chipsets among other hardware tools. The uiusys.sys process is specifically deployed as a component of the Conexant Setup API module, which is an applet built into these Conexant firmware distributions and driver software packages. The uiusys.sys file is placed in the system upon the installation of these Conexant resources and actively operates in the system as a background process whenever a Conexant device or chipset is in use. The uiusys.sys process is integrated into the system by the installer distributions of these Conexant firmware and driver software components, which also means the uiusys.sys file is included in these installers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. uiusys.sys. is used by Conexant Setup API Module, If you shut down uiusys.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop uiusys.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Conexant Setup API Module, from your system.
