What is  uimain.exe

The uimain.exe process is an executable program file included with other EXE application files, certain Dynamic Link Library modules, various SYS driver resources and associated components that are needed by the Norton Ghost software, which is a Windows program classified as a system and data backup and recovery tool that was designed by Symantec with an integrated set of features for creating image backup copies of the Windows system (including configurations, settings and user accounts) or entire file libraries, directories and sub directories that can be restored in other PCs or supported devices. The uimain.exe process is deployed as a main component of the Norton Ghost Management Console module, which is an applet built into the Norton Ghost software that serves as the UI (User Interface) of the program, and this is where the user can configure certain system and data backup or restoration functions and settings for implementation into the system. The uimain.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the Norton Ghost software, which also means the uimain.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of the Norton Ghost program.
