The sw24.exe process is an executable file developed for the drivers of the Microstar International (MSI) Video Card (Nvidia). It aids in buffering videos for improved online viewing. Developed by MSI, it supports the Dynamic Overclocking Technology (DOT) and is a component of the developer’s Platinum brand mainboards. It is referred to as DOT3 in MSI’s mainboards; these mainboards hold the device’s 64-bit processor. The other component of the MSI DOT is the sw20.exe. Sw24.exe is a startup process and runs automatically from registry entries such as RunOnce, Run, RunServicesOnce, or RunServices. It may be seen running on Task Manager as sw24.exe. It is a non-system Windows process and is normally located in the folder C:\Windows\system32. When found elsewhere, it is likely to be a spyware, virus, worm, or Trojan. Users have generally regarded it as a safe file and a valid program.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sw24.exe. is used by NVIDIA Firmware and Driver Software, If you shut down sw24.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
