What is  spamsub.exe

The process spamsub.exe is known as SpamSubtract that belongs to software SpamSubtract from interMute, which is a junk mail detection and removal program. The software is an anti-spam tool that is easy to set-up and seamlessly integrates with Eudora 4/5, Outlook 2000/2002, and Outlook Express 5/6. The anti-spam filter prevents the inbox from being saturated with junk mail based on the email characteristics. Spam mail is unsolicited and irrelevant, and is mostly used for commercial purposes. The anti-spam software contains a database of black listed names and addresses that are continuously updated, while email filters involve the checking of some parameters, for example, if the mail is sent to a large group that is sorted alphabetically. If the email fits the parameters, it is filtered out by the software and transferred to the trash inbox. Anti-spam software also scans the contents of the email for familiar words and phrases that are commonly used by spammers. Popup accounts are automatically blocked, while quarantined mails are filed systematically for the user to review before these are deleted.
