The application snmvtsvc.exe with process name SoundMovieServer.exe belongs to the software SoundTaxi. This program allows users to convert video and audio files of various extensions, including WAV, MP3, WMA, MP4, AVI, and 3GP. SoundTaxi has a plain and simple interface that allows the use of the browser to import media, or to use the drag and drop method. It is capable of converting DRM-protected and non-protected music and movie files at high speed and CD quality. The Settings menu allows the user to choose the output destination or the selected output path, and the desired format, selection of the encoder for the audio files, and the compression quality specification. Users have the option to enable simple VideoRip mode, disable advanced mode, select files on startup, and to automatically start conversion. Some of the features of SoundTaxi include the capability to unprotect practically all DRM files, unprotect and convert songs for use with iPod, CD player, MP3 player, mobile phone or PC, and convert complete folder structures and recreate these structures on output.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. snmvtsvc.exe. is used by SoundTaxi, If you shut down snmvtsvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop snmvtsvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is SoundTaxi, from your system.
